Aerial Photography of Iceland's Landscapes
or aerial drone photographers, videographers, enthusiasts, and the public in general that appreciates aerial landscape visuals, Iceland is the perfect playground for aerial photography.
I have flown drones in different locations. I am self-aware of not disturbing other people and wildlife, but in Iceland there is something special in flying a drone: the vast wilderness, openness, and majestic color-coded landscape creates a feeling of solitude. Out there in the wild, away from the tourist hordes, it's you, the drone, and the Icelandic nature, which sometimes can be feisty with the weather and won't allow you to fly.
Lush green waterfalls, silver glacier rivers, volcanic black soil, blue lagoons, and white icebergs — during my Iceland photography road trip through South Iceland in a bit more than a week, I managed to cover several points from Reykjavik to a few hours beyond Höfn, and venture to the Southern Highlights until the roads, rivers, and weather permitted. Here is my aerial photography point of view of the amazing Icelandic landscape.

It is impossible to drive in Iceland without stopping several times for innumerable potential drone photography opportunities — a 2-hour roadtrip can easily turn into a 6-hour roadtrip.
